EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, a ripp off company !!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Quoted $192 for yard cleaning, provider worked for 2.25 hrs and said had another job but would return to finish job. No problem I understand Later texted saying job finish would be 3 more hours for $120. That is $312 for 5.25 hrs of just cleaning & raking weeds of a small yard or $59+/hr simple yard work!!! Do not use this ripoff company

after setting an appt for yard work, called them 4 times and never heard from any contractors. finally 3 hours before scheduled I called again, no one had been assigned, even so it had been booked many days before, so I cancelled, had them remove me from the system and told the man no charges. big surprise a $15 cancellation fee was added to my credit card, I called they did a one time reversal, they are real good at selling but pis poor at delivering, POS !don't waste you

HUGE complaint

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have had this problem with Home Advisor before - the website makes it impossible to look at providers biographies and reviews before the site dashes us off to 'tell us about your project.' When I have, in the past completed that, I am inundated with calls from people I don't know, have no knowledge of his/her history, ethics, etc. I tried one more time today - looking for a snow plower because my plower of 10 years (who I found on home advisor) forgot to tell me he was only doing his contractor business and no longer plowing. With the exception of his first time plowing, he charged me $60/65 per plow after that. I filled out the blanks for Home advisor - and got an immediate quote of $270. For a freaking DRIVEWAY. Yes, we had a blizzard - is Home advisor becoming Home Advising GOUGER? Yeah, I think so. Some HA-advisorette called me as soon as I left the site and wiped out my history. In her very perky voice, she wanted to know if I wanted to schedule a plow and how the site worked for me. I told her exactly what I wanted and did not want and that HA was to NEVER contact me again. I view this company as unethical. You have no privacy whatsoever when you go to Home Advisor - so be careful. Your phone will be ringing off the hook. HORRIBLE COMPANY. Call your call town for suggestions, NOT Home Advisor.

Cons:
  • Customer care and the poor service they provided
  • Dishonest scamming contractors
  • Non sympathetic customer service

Preferred solution: I would like this company to be completely accountable and acknowledge they created a website that is NOT user friendly, but only business friendly.

User's recommendation: Run away fast; don't be tempted to let them into your lives.

No response at all from my complaint. Im very disappointed with Homeadvisor. Many years ago I used them for several tasks and they were great but it seems that ever since Angi bought them they arent as good as they used to be.

Poor install

Home Advisor sent an unqualified installer to my home to install a shower door. The door does not run as it should and he broke several ceramic tiles in the process. Home Advisor has not made this right. To make this right could be more than $700 because of removing the damaged tile in the 16K bathroom. They do not accept any responsibility at all. Do not use them , they send anyone regardless of skills

Finally the damage was repaired, however, the contractor required $58.00 in parts to complete the repair. I am waiting to be reimbursed for the expense.

I signed on to a local referral company J and sons for the repair of a wood table. They in turn gave my contact information to HomeAdvisor / Angies list. I keep getting phone calls about refinishing my wood FLOORS. I never signed up to be overwhelmed with HomeAdvisor calls and wood floor refinishing companies. I have called, texted, and e-mailed HomeAdvisor to take me off their list / STOP. They keep saying I won't get any more Not get involved with this companyD calls/texts/messages and yet the calls continue. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

Home advisor and their false advertising

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I requested a licensed pro to tuck point my brick walkway, steps and landing at the front of my home. They found a licensed pro in my area and booked 4 hours to complete the job. The pro arrived 2 hours late. He completed the job in less than 2 hours. I went to inspect the work and saw total destruction. All of the bricks were covered by cement haze. Wads of mortar was caked on top of the old broken mortar. My blacktop driveway had white boot prints from him walking back and forth to his car. The cost to repair the damage is $1100. I was told repairs won't bring everything back to its original state. Some damage can't be repaired. I filed a claim with home advisor and requested $1100 for repairs. I received an email that said they would never book that contractor on my future projects and offered me $30 credit towards my next project. I asked for the contractor's full name and credentials and they declined stating it wasn't company protocol to show credentials. I learned that the contractor never had a license and works under a fictitious name. I researched further and found that multiple class action lawsuits have been filed against HomeAdvisor. They're being sued by their employees, contractor's and consumers. The lawsuits all allege unethical and fraudulent business practices. Hopefully they shut this company down.

Scam- Paid for services and contractor never showed up

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The contractor i hired through Home Advisor did not show up. Home advisor charged my card fully for the services. I tried to contact customer support to inform them the contractor did not come. They did not fully refund me only offered a 50% credit off the next booking. Beware, they are a scam and do not use. Work directly with the service provider you need.

I was looking on home advisor to find a outfit that would cut my lawn (for one last time) in November.

Home advisor connected me with a man , who when he called me on the phone, it was established that he was 150 miles away from me. We both cancelled this appt. And now I was looking at my bank statement and found out that I was on a monthly payment to Home Ad. for $73 a month. And then informed by email, that I had a lawn cutting appt. for this Thursday. I quickly cancelled my credit card, the bank cancelled this monthly home advis. debit and when I called Home Advis. I was told that I still had to pay for this Thursdays lawn cutting. I explained that I tried to cancel all strings to HA several times, but she still insisted. I asked for her supervisor, and she hung up! Please be careful around these kind of places. They are just like the yellow pages, who list anybody who pays. Not necessarily the professionals you are looking for. They even have a pissed off section on this site that you have to agree to in order to have notices such as this, revealed.
