I get almost 3 calls a day from them at times and on average at least 3 calls a week. I cant get them off my back. Its so outraging and frustrating. It should be illegal for this to happen. Ive asked them to not call me any more but it doesnt stop. Can someone with enough money please sue this company in to the ground so my nightmare will end.

Scam company | Homeadvisor

Our company called to sign up as a contractor, they waved yearly fee but ask for 300.00 deposit on our credit card to cover future leads. Lindsey Baum the rep explained only two fees for various leads. But in fact, there were about five different fees. After signing up and being approved we received our first three leads which the first one was a bogus number, and the next two were not answering the phone numbers given.I called Lindsey five times over the next 4 days to call me back but never received a call from her. Finally, I called customer service to cancel our listing and let them know about the leads and to refund our deposit. They said that it had to be cancelled in three days and there is no refund. That was never explained to us from Lindsey. They are misleading and a big scam.Don't use them..

Complete waste of money! Do not get suckered. These guys are complete rip off. | Homeadvisor

I run a roofing company that has been in business for over 45 years. We thought we'd give these guys a try as they had called several times. The sales rep told me that any bad leads would be refunded. They sent us approximate 45 leads. Most of the leads were useless. Many of our call backs went to voicemail and the potential customer never called back. I requested a refund detailing each dead end lead. They approved 1 or 2 of approximately 25 requests citing the fact the even if a machine answers the phone and nobody calls back you still have to pay. To top it off, the refunds I did get back were not refunds at all. They were useless credits for more *** leads. The worst part is they alway blame me for not being able to "sell" the leads. Why is it we've been able to sell our other leads just fine for the last 45 years/!! Never ever use these guys. I may as well have burned the $3K I spent with them.

Signed up for service over phone, was promised NO money would be taken out of my account until I received a lead. 15 seconds after hanging up they took $300 out of my account. I called back immediately demanding my money back, was told "We don't take money out of your account until your approved and you haven't been approved yet". I said "that's nice but my bank says otherwise". Spent 4 hours back and forth on the phone with the sales rep. Ended up contacting Chase bank "Fraud Services", Chase then cancelled the transaction and gave me my money back. Homeadvisor salesmen still claims they didn't take any money... (the salesman is lying or completely ignorant) I also asked to be removed from there databases which they still have not done and flat out refuse to this day. They will not delete my account, I can't begin to tell you how infuriating this is. How they haven't been shutdown and had there offices raided yet I do not know.

You made the mistake of giving them your real email address. When going to a site like this you must expect them to not only try to sell you something or other in the future but to also sell your email to other places that will bombard you with emails, etc.

You can get "throwaway" emails for free at many sites, eg., GMX, Mail.com and others. When searching for something online just register for a free email and then use that for your search for fence people and then never use it again.

Keep your real email address for correspondence between you and family, banks, etc. Not for shopping for something online.

How HomeAdvisor steals from contractors

This is how HomeAdvisor rips off contractors: Someone puts in a bogus request for services. They set up a voicemail box to capture all contractors information. They send bogus telemarketers to contractors and sells their information elsewhere. These types of leads are costing contractors thousands. HomeAdviser needs to stop these business practices. They are illegal and criminal. The calls for fake leads and telemarketers becomes overwhelming at times, they will steal your money, waste your time and harvest all your information for malicious purposes. They push down your website as far as possible so a real potential customer will find your company on HomeAdvisor before getting to your site. Now they will sell that lead to you and a dozen others. You would have to have rocks in your head for brains to even consider joining this FRAUDULENT company.
